Chapter 22. We Hate Scar… But We Love Mufasa. Why?

Chapter 22. We Hate Scar… But We Love Mufasa. Why?

Let’s be honest.

We hate Scar.

But we love Mufasa.

And somewhere in between sits Simba, traumatised for life because apparently Disney decided our childhood needed an emotional uppercut.

That scene. 😭

Mufasa hanging from the cliff.
Scar standing there.
The betrayal.
The fall.

Honestly, whoever decided that was suitable Saturday-night family entertainment needs a word.

And yes, before anyone starts writing an angry letter to us — Scar absolutely crossed the line. He didn't just have a bad day. He orchestrated a plan that resulted in his brother's death and then manipulated Simba into believing it was his fault.

But here's the thing…

What if we're all a little bit Mufasa and a little bit Scar?

No, we're not suggesting you start throwing your siblings off cliffs. Please don't. We have enough paperwork.

We're talking about the human stuff.

We've all been betrayed.

We've all felt overlooked.

We've all been jealous.

We've all reacted badly because we were hurt, angry, scared or simply didn't know how to deal with what was happening inside our heads.

And sometimes, if we're brutally honest, we've been the villain in somebody else's story.

That's the uncomfortable bit.

Because it's easy to look at Scar and say:

"He's the villain. End of story."

But villains have stories too.

That doesn't excuse what they do. It doesn't erase consequences. And it certainly doesn't mean everyone who hurts you deserves an invitation back to your Pride Lands with a matching keyring.

But it does raise an important question:

Can somebody be more than the worst thing they've ever done?

We think they can.

That's the point we're always trying to make with VILLIANZ N THAT.

Nobody is perfect.

People mess up. People make terrible choices. People hurt people. People get lost.

But if someone has faced the consequences, accepted responsibility and genuinely wants to change, maybe punishment shouldn't become a life sentence.

Maybe sometimes people need the opportunity to redeem themselves.

To grow.

To become better.

To choose the happy side of Simba.

Because life isn't really about pretending the villain never existed.

It's about deciding what happens after the villainous chapter.

Maybe you've been the Mufasa.

Maybe you've been the Scar.

Maybe you've been Simba — carrying somebody else's actions like they were your fault.

Or maybe, like most of us, you've been a confusing mixture of all three.

The important bit?

Don't let your worst chapter become your whole story.

Learn from it. Own it. Make it right where you can.

Then become the best version of yourself.

Because even in a world full of villains, there is always room for redemption.

And if you're one of the misunderstood, overlooked, written-off or simply trying to rewrite your story…
